Finlay MacLeod is an established Gaelic writer on a variety of topics from children's books to local history, short stories for adults, map-making and general introductions to specialized texts. Robert Adam, the renowned Scottish photographer, first started taking photographs in the Western Isles at the age of 20. This book of his photographs in Mingulay, Barra and Scarp captures a lasting atmosphere of environment both on its own and on occasion of the people inhabiting it at the time. The photographs are taken with empathy and skill and the book is a companion volume to the previous Cas-cheum an Leodhas/Footfall in Lewis published by Acair in 2006
