Author Information

David Thompson has a wide experience in health and social care. His work with Pavilion spans 20 years, largely in relation to his direct work on sexual issues for people with learning disabilities, which was the focus of his PhD. Other areas of expertise include supporting older people with learning disabilities and their family carers. Recently he was very involved in the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act in developing the role of the Independent Mental Capacity Advocacy service across England. He is a trustee of the Ann Craft Trust and currently studying to be a mental health nurse at King's College, London.
