Opal Louis Nations produced the Legendary Gospel Specialty reissue series for Fantasy Records in Berkeley and the Nashboro Gospel reissue series for AVI in Los Angeles. In addition, he has produced and/or written liner notes for well over 100 other commercial CDs, many of them gospel, including the recent 4-CD box set from Tompkins Square on Nashboro Records and the story of the Staple Singers in liner notes for the three first Staple Singers reissue albums on Mississippi Records. He currently spends his time researching and preserving music on indie labels, writing articles on a regular basis for Blues & Rhythm and Doctor Jazz (to name a few) and conducting music research for CD reissues on the Ace, Jasmine and JSP labels, among others.
