Andersen is Senior Scientist at the Technical University of Denmark, where he leads research in biomedical optics. He has more than 20 years of research experience with light sources for biomedical optics, optical coherence tomography, and nonlinear microscopy. He has coordinated several European research programmes and has authored or co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in the above-mentioned fields. He is an editorial board member of the Journal of Biomedical Optics and the Journal of Biophotonics. Paul Michael Petersen is a Professor at the Technical University of Denmark. He has more than 25 years of research experience in new diode light sources, and has headed several collaborative, large-scale research projects. From 2002 until 2012 he was appointed adjunct professor in Optics at the Niels Bohr Institute, Copenhagen University.
