Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationRoss Bender was born in the shadow of the Hindu Kush, the illegitimate son of a British Major in the Horse Guards and a Punjabi nursemaid. He attended Oral Roberts University in the United States and later received his Ph.D. in Love at Columbia University in the City of New York. Bender also studied at the Institute of Glottopsychiatry, University of Waterloo, where he was awarded the Certificate in the Science of Cognitive Everything. In addition to his work as a translator of Sumerian epic and a novelist, Bender is a prolific poet, with several major collections including I sold my soul to a big-breasted girl, hurt durations, and thinkpiece for yearsend. In 2012 he was named Poet Laureate of Clark Park in University City, West Philadelphia. Bender served in the Queen's African Rifles during the Mau Mau uprising and retired with the rank of Lieutenant. He is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, Member of the Academie Francaise, and has been awarded the Order of Canada and the Order of the British Empire. He resides in West Philadelphia, Guadeloupe, Vancouver, and the Maldive Islands, where his hobbies include dice, vice, crazy women and the Epistle to the Romans.
