Overview

The composition of self-compacting concrete (SCC) is highly specific, notably due to its high sand content in relation to the aggregates. Due to its high paste content, low water/binder ratio and absence of bleed water, BAP is very sensitive to surface drying, which can lead to early cracking or crusting. It is therefore becoming necessary to consider alternatives such as quarry sand and dune sand, which are available in greater quantities.
