Overview

Many of the current controversies over globalization, intellectual property protection, biotechnology and the future of farming are played out in seed provision. ...an original contribution to the field. Furthermore, because it synthesizes a lot of information about disparate areas, it will fill an important gap in the literature. - Michael Morris at CIMMYT in Mexico ... the author allows the reader to have a comprehensive picture of seed provision and the complexities involved within the context of agricultural development. LEISA MAGAZINE An insightful and informative book that would be appropriate as a secondary text for upper-level undergraduate and for graduate courses on rural development and agricultural change. It also would be excellent reading for development practitioners working in the agricultural sector. - William G. Moseley in AFRICAN STUDIES REVIEW
