Overview

Perfect for LITTLE WOMEN fans and ideal for BOYS and girls who never have read Louisa May Alcott's 1868-69 classic, in which Scrabble is Jo March's pet rat. SCRABBLE'S DREAM gives children an opportunity to learn about Scrabble's life before Alcott wrote LITTLE WOMEN: Follow the life story of Scrabble, a rat with likeable, believable, human characteristics. Learn about the years Scrabble lives with teenage Louisa May Alcott at the Hillside House before she grows up and writes LITTLE WOMEN. Discover if Scrabble escapes the trap of his repeated childhood dream that haunts and taunts him. Decide if Scrabble does what his recurring dream insists he do. Enjoy tales of fantasy and fun about Scrabble, his family, friends, and love. Visit historic places, events, and people in Concord and Boston, Massachusetts, during the American Renaissance. SCRABBLE'S DREAM is a wholesome book for girls and boys, age nine and older, but it is delightful reading for both the young and the old. SCRABBLE'S DREAM is an ideal book for home-schooled children, and it is an ideal supplement to public and private school curricula. NOW IS THE PERFECT TIME TO PURCHASE SCRABBLE'S DREAM! In 2018, LITTLE WOMEN celebrates the 150th anniversary of its first publication, and children have several opportunities to see new productions of the beloved, children's classic. A new movie brings a modern adaptation of the classic to the theatres in 2018. Also, the Public Broadcast System's (PBS') Masterpiece and the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) bring a three-part mini-series of LITTLE WOMEN to television in 2018.
