We all have our own personal stories in life. Each of us is unique, with different perspectives on the events that shape our lives. This book you hold right now contains some of my brief scéals-stories that I share with you openly and honestly. As you read these glimpses into my life, my hope is that they will stir memories and scéals of your own. I believe that while our stories are different, they also share common threads that connect us. By sharing my experiences, I aim to inspire you to reflect on your own, to find the beauty and meaning in your journey, and perhaps even to share your own stories with others.

Shawn O'Neil, a Vermonter and father of three, occasionally visits Ireland to explore his family's roots in County Kerry and Cork. Over the years, he has worn many hats, working as a track coach, video duplicator, computer technician, help desk clerk, librarian, and hospice, palliative, and grief companion volunteer. However, his true passion lies in creative writing, storytelling, and teaching others how to share their own stories.Shawn explains, ""I started this project many years ago. It began with sending a joke, pun, or quote to a few coworkers every Friday-something to make everyone smile (or groan) after a hard week of work. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, many of us were working from home, and there was a lot of uncertainty in the world.
