Overview

Born in Belgrade, Serbia, street photographer Boogie possesses a rare talent for documenting the human condition. With an eye for social realism that fluctuates between moments of quiet beauty and confrontational abrasive narratives, Boogie's work brings to mind that of war photographer of rank Capa mixed with Diane Arbus. His black and white photographs which he develops himself in his Brooklyn bathroom, capture the character and the inhabitants of some of the most tumultuous cities in the world. Traditionally photojournalism focuses more on content - recording a moment or event - and less upon formal concerns. Boogie however gracefully integrates both a documentarian's eye with a finely honed artistic sensibility. Many of his images are at once deeply poignant, and totally unsettling. Boogie's work has taken him from Serbia to Cuba and through South America.
