Overview

An exciting thriller in which a retired Royal Navy officer sailing off the Isle of Wight encounters a strange object floating in the sea. A Ukrainian General is murdered in an English hotel by irradiation. MI5 are on the case. The link between these two events is an attractive young woman. The coast of Dorset, a Bermondsey flat and the docks of Liverpool prove to be dangerous places for all concerned, but more so is the emotional havoc generated when the two main characters are thrown together by the escalating crisis. Devotion, love and loyalties become agonisingly intertwined as the criminal plot unfolds.

Author Information

Richard Trahair is a retired chartered surveyor with a career in estate management, married with two grown-up daughters. He was educated at Sherborne School and the University of Leeds, and grew up on the borders of Devon and Cornwall where he learnt to row a boat and drive a tractor almost before he could walk. For most of the rest of his life he has messed about in boats, a rowing wildfowl punt when his children were small, and for the last seventeen years a classic cruising gaffer. When he is not sailing, he and his wife Biddy are immersed in local community affairs in a small Wiltshire village where they have lived for the last forty years. He is the church organist and also for the last twenty years a magistrate in Salisbury. He enjoys writing and public reading. 'Sailor All at Sea' is his first published work, except for a series of topical articles in the local weekly newspaper some years ago.
