Assoc.Prof.Dr. Konur Alp Demir was born in Sakarya in 1983. He received his bachelor's degree from the Departments of Public Administration and International Relations of the Faculty of Economics of Anadolu University and the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Letters of Karadeniz Technical University. He received his master's and doctorate degrees from the Department of Public Administration of the Institute of Social Sciences of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, respectively. He received his second master's degree from the Department of Coastal Zone Management of the Institute of Marine Sciences and Management of Istanbul University. He received his second doctorate degree in sociology from the Institute of Graduate Education of Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University. He has numerous book chapters, articles, and presentations in the fields of public administration and sociology. His main research areas are public administration, local governments, Middle East studies, culture and society, sociology, transportation, urbanisation and environmental problems, municipalities, provincial administration, special provincial administrations, auditing in public administration, non-governmental organisations, civil administration, governance, coastal area management, water resources management, and protection of the marine environment. He is the author of a total of 6 independent books and 5 edited books in his field.
