OverviewIn simple, evocative text and spectacular watercolors, the author describes the traditions, beliefs, and colorful pageantry of the more than one million Hindu pilgrims who travel to Benares each year to renew themselves in the sacred waters of the Ganges River. The text functions as captions to the expansive watercolors, which capture every nuance of the changing light on water and stone as the sky lightens. . . . This beautiful book will be appreciated most by those who already have some background in India and Hinduism. -- Kirkus Reviews, pointer Full Product DetailsAuthor: Ted LewinPublisher: Houghton Mifflin Imprint: Clarion Books Dimensions: Width: 22.40cm , Height: 0.30cm , Length: 30.00cm Weight: 0.163kg ISBN: 9780618378395ISBN 10: 0618378391 Pages: 29 Publication Date: 20 October 2003 Recommended Age: From 10 to 12 years Audience: Children/juvenile , Children / Juvenile Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Out of Print Availability: In Print Limited stock is available.
