Reviews

This impressive and much needed volume contains a truly world class collection of scholars. And it provides a perfect balance of cutting edge analysis of topical issues and coverage of the fundamentals. I am certain that this new handbook will emerge as essential reading for anyone interested in medical law and ethics. Tim Caulfield, Research Director, Health Law Institute, University of Alberta. This handbook brings together an impressive number of experts in the field. Its extensive and analytical coverage of issues in medical law and ethics will make it an extremely valuable resource. In particular, its coverage of issues of concern to developing countries is to be welcomed, and helps to make it stand out from other books in this area. Sheila McLean, Emeritus Professor of Law and Ethics in Medicine, University of Glasgow, UK. Chapters from scholars working in 11 different countries give `The Handbook of Medical Law and Ethics' a unique - and uniquely useful - perspective on the host of issues arising as medicine and the biosciences intersect with both law and ethics. Hank Greely, Professor at Stanford University Law School and Director of the Center for Law and the Biosciences.
