The router is probably the most versatile of the hand power tools and Alan Goodsell shows us why. Goodsell starts this DVD with the very basic information about what type of router the novice should be using. Safety is of utmost important and Goodsell shows why. The various types of router bits are discussed and the author emphasizes the importance of installing the bits correctly into the router not to tightly. Fixed and plunge base routers are shown in detail as well as the procedure for end grain routing on table tops. Dadoes are covered in detail as are rabbets and other more complex details such as dovetails..

Woodworker and journalist Alan Goodsell has written extensively on woodworking and tools for a range of magazines including the highly acclaimed Woodturning magazine, The Router, and Furniture & Cabinetmaking (GMC). A significant move took Alan to the USA where he ran the Marketing Department for a top router bit and cutting tool manufacturer. Still living in Florida, Alan has moved back into publishing and is now producing both books and videos on specialised subjects.
