Sánchez-Margallo graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Extremadura in Spain in 2007, and obtained a PhD in 2014 with European Mention within the field of Bioengineering from the same university. From 2015 to 2017 he did a postdoctoral specialization at the Medical Technology Department of SINTEF in Norway, and at the Department of Biomechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Delft in The Netherlands. He is currently a Research Scientist at the Bioengineering and Health Technology Unit of Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre in Caceres, Spain. Dr. Sánchez-Margallo is a member of the Technological Committee of the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery. He has participated in 30 European international, national, and regional R&D projects, and is the author of 30 JCR articles, 17 book chapters, three books, more than 200 papers presented at national and international congresses, four patents, four utility models, and one industrial design Francisco M. Sánchez-Margallo is a PhD in Veterinary Science from the University of Extremadura and the Scientific Director at the Jesús Usón Minimally Invasive Surgery Centre in Cáceres, in Spain. He has directed over 650 training activities related to minimally invasive surgery, including national and international training courses for surgeons and health professionals. He has written more than 240 scientific articles with Impact Factor and more than 150 academic articles related to minimally invasive surgery and other surgeries. Dr. Sánchez-Margallo is the author of 25 books and co-author of 49 book chapters. He has presented 254 scientific posters, more than 600 oral communications and a number of lectures at National and International Congresses. He is reviewer of several scientific journals; has directed 34 doctoral theses, has participated in 100 research projects granted by public and private entities, and is a member of several scientific committees of a number of symposiums and conferences.
