Excerpt from Results of Cotton Experiments in 1911 Even with an annual plant like cotton most experiments have to be continued for several years before the completed results are ready to be reported. But when the work leads to the recognition of new factors that affect the crop or suggests new methods of agricultural improvement there should be no loss of time in making the results available for the information of the public or for the use of other 5 investigators of similar problems. These purposes can be served by a brief summary of the principal conclusions that have been reached, especially those that affect general problems of breeding and crop production. The present statement is to be considered as supplementary to that contained in the Annual Report of the Chief of the Bureau of Plant Industry for 1911. The subjects that have been treated in more detailed publications are also omitted unless further conclusions have been reached.
