OverviewExcerpt from Report of the Connecticut Pomological Society: For the Year 1906, With Proceedings of the Sixteenth Annual Meeting, 1907 Article I. - The name of this Association shall be The Connecticut Pomological Society. Article II. - Its object shall be the advancement of the science and art of pomology, and the mutual improvement and business advantage of its members. Article III. - Any person may become a member of this Society by paying into the treasury the sum of one dollar, and the membership shall cease at the end of the current -ear. Any person may become a life member of this society by the payment of the sum of ten dollars at one time. All moneys from life memberships to form a permanent investment fund of the Society, Article IV. - Its officers shall consist of a President, First Vice-President, one Vice-President from each county in the State, a Secretary and a Treasurer, to be elected annually by ballot, to hold office for one year, or until their successors are duly elected. The President, First Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer shall constitute the Executive Committee of the Society. Article V. - The Society shall hold its annual meeting during the month of February, the time and place to be decided by the Executive Committee, at which time the annual election of officers shall be held, various reports submitted and an exhibition and discussion of fruits take place; also other necessary business be transacted. Other meetings for special purposes may be arranged for and called by the Executive Committee whenever it is deemed advisable. Printed notice of each meeting to be sent to every member of this Society. Article VI. - The following Standing Committees of three members each, on the following subjects, shall be appointed by the President, to hold during his term of office; the appointments to be announced at the annual meeting of the Society.
