Overview

Remorseful Vows: In English, Spanish, and French Chelsea Maya Ortiz, a naive, but kind-hearted Argentinean student in United States, is utterly alone. With no friends, no job, and only a minimal ability to communicate with the locals, Chelsea is not sure she can survive; she feels the need to fall in love. But when fate brings her into the arms of the perfect man -- a black attorney who is as kind-hearted and charming as he is handsome - her empty heart is instantly filled. A whirlwind romance spanning the globe immediately ensues, and together they overcome the ever-present hardships inherent to a controversial bi-racial relationship, until inevitably, he asks for her hand in marriage. Even when her own mother threatens to banish Chelsea from the family if she marries a black man, Chelsea's dizzying love is unbridled. But unknown to Chelsea, this man harbors a dangerous secret that will destroy everything she believes about love, trust, and faith in human kind. He is a Voodoo Practitioner. Early years of marriage are filled with more of the same love and happiness. Chelsea's discovery of her husband's secret life immediately drives a stake through the heart of their relationship. Chelsea sinks into a nightmare spiral of dread and despair and once again has nobody to turn to for help. Out of fearful desperation, Chelsea travels to Haiti, the birthplace of her husband, in a desperate attempt to undercover the elusive truth - who is this man? The unspeakable answer that will leave her wishing that she had never asked the question! This dark and thought-provoking story, based on true events, is an exciting and suspenseful exploration of the complex and fragile nature of trust and love. Our blind faith in these foundations of human strength and security cloaks the truth - we are all only one sordid secret away from having our lives destroyed.
