OverviewThe Watsons by Jane Austen is not well-known to many outside of her fans, but it should be. Emma Watson is the youngest of six children born to a country parson who was taken away from her family at the age of five to be raised as the heir of her aunt and uncle; however, fourteen years later, her widowed aunt remarried and cast her aside. She found herself once again returned to her family as a well-educated young lady without a penny to her name. Hopes and dreams dashed-Emma must learn to live among less refined company than she has been used to while also getting to know the family from whom she has been so long estranged. While looking down on the poverty in which her family live with their 'inferior minds and manners', Emma begins to think about her future anew. The introduction of a handsome but foolish flirt who has taken up residence at the local inn, an attractive but awkward and seemingly careless young lord, and an agreeable looking and sensible clergyman, along with the many differing personalities of her siblings, turn life in her new home upside down. With a goal to make a place for herself, how will Emma cope with her new circumstances? Will she overcome her fears of abandonment and betrayal and bond with the family who sent her away all those years ago? Find out in this completion of Jane Austen's unfinished fragment. *This is a full-length novel of over 98,000 words.* Full Product DetailsAuthor: Eireanne MichaelsPublisher: Literary Realms Press Imprint: Literary Realms Press Volume: 1 Dimensions: Width: 15.20cm , Height: 1.80cm , Length: 22.90cm Weight: 0.422kg ISBN: 9781969841026ISBN 10: 1969841028 Pages: 316 Publication Date: 25 December 2025 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier. She is one of those women who is perfectly happy to be considered a 'crazy cat lady' as it both keeps people away and is simply the unavoidable truth. She is a fan of fantasy, science fiction, and old British literature. She has been a fan of Jane Austen's novels for many, many years (possibly 'since tigers were smoking' which is the Korean way to say 'since dinosaurs roamed the earth.') Every year, she reads her favorites again, and the others, usually get their time every two to three years, but, since COVID-19, she began to feel the need for more and started reading JAFF (Jane Austen Fan Fiction). While it can be fun, the author most appreciates Austen's knowledge of psychology which is sadly lacking in most JAFF novels. To Eireanne, Austen's works are like good lasagna; it's full of layers that bring new delicious tidbits to the surface each time they are reached. However, most people only notice the cheesy bit on top and miss the real meat underneath. Jane Austen was not just a great author, she had depths that many have not and may never discover. It has created a passion, or possibly obsession, in this author to discover all of the hidden gems in her sarcastic and witty novels. For her own reasons, and her own amusement, she has decided to take up writing JAFF in order to help her better understand the time period, the characters, and the original author. However, rather than writing in a way that obfuscates the truth so that one has to search it out like Jane did (though it is fun), this author has more of an interest in finding ways to uncover the truth in order to encourage readers to look past the surface. The author hopes that you, the reader, will be able to understand her love and appreciation for Jane Austen, her world, and her characters. It is this author's intention to write more JAFF in the future, including and especially mergers between Austen's books (Across the Austenverse).
