Bill Katz, Professor, School of Information Science and Policy, SUNY-Albany, is author of the standard text on reference services, Introduction to Reference Services, now in its sixth edition; editor of The Reference Librarian and The Acquisitions Librarian; and former editor of RQ. With Linda Katz he edits Magazines for Libraries; he also writes a column on magazines for Library Journal.
