His fields of specialisation include welfare economics, theory of economic policy, policy games, and monetary and fiscal policy, amongst others. He has published in prominent journals and authored a number of books, including Economic Policy in the Age of Globalisation (2005), and, with Giovanni di Bartolomeo and Andrew Hughes Hallett, Macroeconomic Paradigms and Economic Policy (Cambridge, 2016).
