Overview

Travis Summers and Sam Barrett are the best friends, just like their fathers before them. It's senior year, and the boys are happy and carefree, playing basketball and ranching for their families. Born and raised in Nocona, Texas, Shirley Phillips Porter taught school in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas before retiring in 2000. She was awarded a Master of Education from Texas Woman's University and taught special education, gifted education, English, creative writing, and one-act play.
