OverviewThis collection of poetry, prose, and art is a tapestry woven by Indigenous hearts and hands living throughout the Cascades, of Native origin throughout North America. A gathering of threads, each representing distinct cultures and heritage, yet profoundly linked by shared relationship with this land we call home. Weaving has always been a storytelling practice. There is much more to be woven. The intention of this book is to affirm that Native people remain and are reclaiming rightful presence in the PNW and across North America, still connected to the land no matter where we live, and still talking with enduring spirits, older than time. The open call welcomed poetry, prose, photography, and art that centered the land, spirit, and biology of the Northwest. The response was a testament to the abundance of talent and the depth of connection within our communities.
