Raised Presbyterian, he converted to Catholicism while attending Princeton University. He then served as a Naval Officer before entering the seminary. After completing his doctorate and serving at St. Peter' s parish on Capitol Hill, in 2011 Fr. Griffin was appointed to the newly established St. John Paul II Seminary.
