Overview

In an effort to impress upon the student of radiologic technology the importance of lifelong learning and professionalism and in an effort to ease the time constraints on the educator, this 2nd edition has been largely expanded in line with the newest ARRT and ASRT curriculum guidelines. The chapters have been reordered to flow more in line with a semester as it advances from the basic to the more complex pathology. More radiographic images have been added to enhance the radiography students understanding of his or her role in providing quality images with which to make a diagnosis. Images of both normal and abnormal processes have been presented when the pathology is more subtle to the untrained eye. Modality images have been included to increase the awareness of the complementary roles that all modalities present with each other. Discussion questions at the end of appropriate chapters include case studies. The chapter summary is bulleted and an extremely student-friendly way to review the important and salient points presented in the chapter. Finally, sections of the chapters have been pulled out as either a Tech Tip to indicate something that the student should remember as important to either the obtaining of a diagnostic radiograph or for things to look for on a radiographic image to help determine the next step in the process.
