Quantum Mechanics: A Modern and Concise Introductory Course

Overview

Starting from basic principles, the book covers a wide variety of topics, ranging from Heisenberg, Schroedinger, second quantization, density matrix and path integral formulations of quantum mechanics, to applications that are (or will be) corner stones of present and future technologies.  The emphasis is on spin waves, quantum information, recent tests of quantum physics and decoherence. The book provides a large amount of information without unbalancing the flow of the main ideas by laborious detail.

Reviews

From the book reviews: This is an outstanding book with reference to the principles of quantum mechanics in the schools of Heisenberg and Schrodinger. It discusses the second and multiple dimensional theories of quantum physics looking carefully at the mathematical and statistics foundations. The third dimensional Schrodinger equation is discussed. There are keywords and problems at the end of every major discussion. ... I recommend this book highly to physics students and graduates, in addition to any other interested audiences of all backgrounds. (Joseph Grenier, Amazon.com, February, 2015)
