Reviews

""In the crowded field of emotion science, it is a high bar to achieve a resource book that provides comprehensive, contemporary, and accessible information. Psychology of Emotion doesn’t just meet that high bar, it stares down at the abyss to glimpse the bar far below. Spanning topics from how we express, experience, manage and share emotions to how electrical signals in the brain, sweaty palms, and cracking voices communicate emotions, this textbook covers all the classics and the newest theory and experiments in the science of emotion. Exploring topics from love, fear, pride, and hate and everything in between, this book provides the quintessential resource for every student and scholar who seeks to understand the complexity of human emotion."" Wendy Berry Mendes, PhD., Charles C. & Dorathea S. Dilley Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology, Yale University ""Written by three leaders in the field, Psychology of Emotion is the perfect textbook for the beginning as well as the advanced student eager to learn about emotion. In a comprehensive, balanced, and accessible way, the book covers topics including definitions and theories of emotion; methods for measuring emotion; universal vs. culture-specific aspects of emotion; and the real-world consequences of emotion for decision making, happiness, health, and interpersonal relationships. This book will quickly bring readers up-to-speed on the latest findings in the exciting field of emotion and at the same time show readers why emotions matter for daily life."" Dr. Jeanne Tsai, Department of Psychology, Stanford University
