Overview

PROMISED is a nonfiction, engaging, four-book series by Midget Cooper telling the story of a premature baby born in a Southwest Oklahoma homestead farmhouse to a family with eight siblings and a mother determined to see her children attend college. Intricately woven into the sometimes humorous, sometimes gritty evolution of her life is another story of promises made and kept by an ancestral voice. The series opens with an anxious seven-year-old girl going the last miles by horseback to reach a year-long goal: a promise made by a Sunday-school teacher to give a nice present for being in Sunday school every Sunday for a year. When the promise proves false, a broken-hearted child is comforted by a voice from out of the blue that delivers a greater, everlasting gift. This spiritual encounter is the first of many with profound affects. Midget's second book begins when she is twenty-two and fresh out of college. Clutching career expectations, she moves to rural Wyoming where spiritual experiences become more prevalent and profound. The Voice continues to pull her through difficult situations and assigns her work to do during her first after-death experience. Midget's family roles as partner and parent become paramount in book three. The Voice continues to save and serve her as she faces life-threatening events, leaving her with important discoveries. Book four paints pictures of family adventures during travels into the far west regions of the United States and Canada, while residing in the states of Washington and then California. Midget continues to face death challenges into retirement and up to the passing of her beloved partner, who joins The Voice to guide, protect and rescue her.
