Overview

This book highlights latest research advance in the field of Radioscience, Equatorial Atmospheric Science and Environment as part of the International Symposium for Equatorial Atmosphere celebrating the 21st Anniversary of the Equatorial Atmosphere Radar (EAR) , organized by Research Center for Climate and Atmosphere (PRIMA) of National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The symposium provides a scientific platform for researchers and professionals to discuss ideas and current issues as well as to design the solutions in the areas of space science, ocean science, atmospheric science, , environmental science, material science, and other related disciplines.

Author Information

Dr. Erma Yulihastin is a senior researcher at Atmospheric Science and Technology Center—Indonesian National Institute of Space and Aeronautics and currently served as a principal investigator of Decision Support System (DSS) Development for Agriculture and Maritime. She pursued her doctoral degree in Atmospheric Science, Bandung Technology Institutes, and received her degree in 2020. Her interests and researches are focused on air–sea interaction, meso-scale and dynamical process of the atmosphere and numerical weather prediction as well as regional climate modelling. In addition, she participates actively as a resource person for the mass media to explain the extreme atmospheric conditions that have resulted in hydrometeorology disasters in several regions in Indonesia. Dr. Sri Yudawati Cahyarini is a Research Professor in the field of Geology-Paleoclimatology at the National Research and Innovation Agency Republic of Indonesia (BRIN) and interested in paleoclimate reconstruction, She was DAAD scholar for her PhD degree in Kiel University, Germany. Her works have been published in peer reviewed journals i.e in Scientific reports, International Journal on Earth Sciences, Journal of Geophysical Research-Ocean, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Nature Geoscience, Nature Communication, etc. Dr. Heru Santoso obtained his Ph.D. degree in 2003 from the International Global Change Institute, the University of Waikato, Hamilton, New Zealand, with a thesis title ""Towards an integrated model for assessing the effects of changes in climate and land use patterns on the quantity and variability of river flows in Indonesia"". He started his career as a research assistant in 1991 at the Indonesian Institute of Sciences and has been involved in many research activities since then, including as a regional manager for the tropical forests and climate change adaptation project at the Centre for International Forestry Research from2006 - 2009.  Currently, he is a Senior Researcher at the Center for Climate and Atmospheric Research, National Research and Innovation Agency, with research interests in climate change adaptation; local/regional environmental management; water resources management; and sustainable development. Dr. Widodo is a member of the advisory board of the Korea - Indonesia Marine Technology Cooperation Research Center. He was a visiting professor at Brawijaya University, in 2021, teaching hydrodynamic modeling. Since 2010 until now, he has been actively teaching of ocean-atmosphere interactions in military service schools, such as: Indonesian Naval Postgraduate School (STTAL), Navy Staff and Command School (SESKOAL), and also Armed Forces Staff and Command School (SESKO TNI). Dr. Lilik Slamet S received Doctoral degree from Universitas Indonesia in 2014 environmental study programme and Master of science from Indonesia  University in 2004. He is a researcher focusing on environmental study, especially methane emission, air pollution, and climate change. In the present, he has done research about the methane emission modelling from rainfall (raindrop size distribution). Dr. Halda Aditya Belgaman is a researcher at The Research Center for Climate and Atmosphere and currently serves as a coordinator for Cloud Physics and its application research group. He received his doctoral degree in Isotope Hydrometeorology from the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Science, Kumamoto University, Japan. His research interest is around the effect of cloud seeding on rain enhancement and rain suppression for water resource management. The main research focus is on local meteorological circulation, cloud development, precipitation process, and characteristics using microphysics parameter observations. Dr. Abdul Basit is a permanent researcher at the Center for Climate and Atmospheric Research, National Research andInnovation Agency. He was DAAD scholarship awardee to complete his doctoral degree from Hamburg University-Germany in 2020. His current research is focused on upwelling mechanisms and its variability in the Indonesian Seas.
