About the editors: Rudi Appels is a professor of gene discovery and gene modification at Murdoch University, Western Australia and honorary cereal scientist at the University of Melbourne. Russell Eastwood is a wheat breeder with Australian Grain Technologies. Evans Lagudah is a chief research scientist at CSIRO. He is leading a team investigating plant disease resistance genes to help improve cereal crops. Peter Langridge is a professor of plant genomics at the University of Adelaide.
