OverviewDuring the last decades, the theoretical understanding of single quantum systems, as well as the experimental ability to isolate, manipulate and control them, has reached unprecedented level. Current efforts are focused on the next step, namely to attack few-particle and in particular many-particle systems. Among the new challenging questions is the characterization of correlations between individual quantum systems, which arise due to interactions between particles or due to quantum statistical properties of indistinguishable particles. Statistical approaches to describe correlations have been established in different branches of mathematics and quantum physics. At the conference New Perspectives in Quantum Statistics and Correlations bridges between these fields of research have been built. This volume gives a collection of articles from invited speakers of this conference, and thereby outlines the different aspects which have been discussed.
