Overview

TO BEAT AN ASSASSIN, BECOME THE ASSASSIN. The deep state isn't pleased with the current President. An assassination would put the Vice President in a prime election position if black ops intelligence specialist Sean Havens doesn't thwart the power players' agenda. Sent undercover to Martha's Vineyard, a historic presidential summer retreat, asset Sean Havens is tasked to conduct a recovery under the guise of a routine security assessment in advance of POTUS's arrival. A new threat is exposed on the island getaway forcing Havens into action with no backup save for a mysterious JSOC colleague, the Man from Orange, code named BIRDDOG. Unaware of a conspiracy dating back to our forefathers, Sean Havens is forced to trust old enemies in a twisted race between the CIA, the Pond, and the upcoming presidential election. But is it Havens himself who is in the cross hairs?

The SAFE HAVENS series reads like a throwback to when action movies didn't suck. Patten covers far more than just the various missions and operations Sean Havens embarks on, and is careful to also include plenty of details into his hero's life away from the action. The ability to show a middle-aged operative in the heat of battle one minute and at home raising his child the next is evidence of Patten's depth as a writer. Having grown leaps and bounds since the release of his first novel, J.T. Patten, with his penchant for been-there-done-that authenticity, remains an author to watch closely. -Ryan the Rappologist, The Real Book Spy JT Patten's spy thriller is one of few novels actually written by an intelligence professional--and it shows in his details. From an understanding of regional conflicts, special activities, to global locations, Primed Charge was an amazing read. -Former Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) and former Director of Intelligence, Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) J.T. Patten takes readers deep into the shadows with an explosive narrative that could only have been written by a man who has been there himself. --Mark Greaney #1 NYT Bestselling Author of Agent in Place JT Patten has done all the research. All you need to do is hang on for the ride. --Sean Naylor, Bestselling Author of Relentless Strike and Not a Good Day to Die Fantastic. This is a thriller that reads like it could be true. J.T. Patten really knows his stuff, largely because he's lived it, with all the thrills and adrenaline rush it involves. --Michael Smith, Bestselling Author of Killer Elite
