Overview

Prairie Fire by Mike Shellenbergar continues the story of Cowboy and Hawk as they face another dangerous mission. The two of them worked together like a well-oiled machine; however, nothing could prepare them for what was about to come. Stuck in Laos thanks to an ambush, both Cowboy and Hawk understood that they were in for something big this time. They uncovered new secrets and plots that would put their past mission to shame. An assassination attempt was about to happen to the topmost American officials, and it was up to Cowboy and Hawk to protect everyone. They entailed the help of Liz, but would that be enough? They had attacks coming at them from every angle; would they be able to survive and live to tell the tale? I loved the way Mike Shellenbergar chaptered this amazing story. It added a sense of urgency to the narrative and made me feel lost in the story. Honestly, reading Prairie Fire was like watching a high-octane Hollywood movie. Cowboy and Hawk were a great team. The dialogues were terrific; they revealed a lot about how a character thought and what they would do next. Both of the protagonists worked well together. They worked together as a team, and they allowed each other to develop and make the story stronger with every page. The descriptions were out of this world-especially the parts where the two were ambushed in Laos. I got an adrenaline rush just reading it. It was far more entertaining and exciting than I initially imagined.
