A great enthusiast of the Czech Republic, particularly Prague, he has been capturing the city and its inhabitants through his watercolors for years. Originally from the Czech Republic, Jaroslav Kalfar immigrated to the United States at the age of 15 without knowing a word of English. He taught himself English, later attended New York University, where he began writing, and earned a Master of Fine Arts.
