This book was written to meet the needs of a person who will be responsible for making decisions about the installation of a small-scale electrical energy system for a home or for a small business. The small-scale electrical energy system may be needed in either or both of the following two situations: 1. Backup Power: The system may be needed to provide backup emergency power during a power failure. 2. Primary Power: The system may need to provide all the electricity that will be required by a home or a small business for many years into the future. Today a family or small business can produce electricity on a small-scale using fossil fuels, or the sun, or the wind, or water. This book will review all of these options in order to help a person determine whether or not one or more of these options would be feasible for his or her specific circumstances.
