Overview

Powerful Transformation elucidates the alchemical principles of development and completion stage practices applied in a sublime manner. What prevents the meditation experiences and realization from arising, are mainly our misdeeds, obscurations and habitual patterns, these can be purified by Vajrasattva Practice. When a yogi attains accomplishment, the obstacles become greater and can be overcome by Vajrakilaya Practice, combined with recognition of mind nature. In the Secret Heart Essence, these two powerful yidams are combined as conduits to realization and accomplishment. These teachings on the hidden treasures of Chokgyur Lingpa by Karmey Khenpo Rinchen Dargye, Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche, Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche, and Orgyen Topgyal Rinpoche exactly describe how to train.

Author Information

"Padmasambhava has influenced countless beings through the Vajrayanateachings and in particular through the activity of the profound termatreasures. Padmasambhava came to Tibet upon the invitation of KingTrisong Deutsen who wished to establish Buddhism there but wasobstructed by hostile spirits. Once Padmasambhava came, in five yearsthe work was completed for the temple complex of Glorious Samye, the Unchanging and Spontaneously Accomplished Temple. Padmasambhava gave numberless other profound and extraordinary teachings to many destined students headed by the king and his sons and the twenty-five disciples. It is impossible to count exactly how many students inTibet received empowerment from Padmasambhava in person. Many of theseclose students had bloodlines that have continued until the present day. At present he dwells on the vidyadhara level of spontaneous presence in the form of the regent of Vajradhara, unshakable for as.long as samsara remains. Full of compassion he sends out emanations tobenefit beings. Chokgyur Lingpa. (1829-1870). A treasure revealer and contemporary of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and Jamgon Kongtrul. Regarded as one of the major tertons in Tibetan history, his termas are widely practiced by both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools. Chokgyur Lingpa means 'Sanctuary of Eminence.' ""Chokgyur Lingpa was the ""manifestation,"" meaning the reincarnation, of King Trisong Deutsen's son, Prince Damdzin. Another of his former lives was the great terton, Sangye Lingpa, who revealed the Lama Gongdu. Chokgyur Lingpa was the last of the 100 major tertons. He was the owner of seven transmissions and is regarded as the universal monarch of all tertons. A great realized Khenpo and compiler of many commentaries of on Chokgyur Lingpa's works. One of the greates master of the twentieth century who held transmission for all four schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche passed away on the 13th of February at his hermitage Nagi Gompa on the southern slope of the Shivapuri mountain. He was born in eastern Tibet on the tenth day of the fourth Tibetan month in 1920. Karmapa Khakyab DorjeHe was recognized by H.H. Khakyab Dorje, the 15th Gyalwang Karmapa, as the reincarnation of the Chowang Tulku, as well as the emanation of Nubchen Sangye Yeshe, one of the chief disciples of Padmasambhava. Guru Chowang the First (1212-70 AD) was one of the five Terton Kings, the major revealers of secret texts hidden by Guru Padmasambhava. Nubchen Sangye YesheTulku Urgyen's main monastery was Lachab Gompa in Nangchen, Eastern Tibet. He studied and practiced the teachings of both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism. Among the four greater Kagyu Schools, his family line was the main holder of the Barom Kagyu Lineage. In the Nyingma tradition, Tulku Urgyen held the complete teachings of the last century's three great masters: Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa, Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo and Kongtrul Lodro Thaye. He had an especially close transmission for the New Treasures, a compilation of all the empowerments, reading transmissions and instructions of Padmasambhava's teachings, which were rediscovered by Terchen Chokgyur Lingpa, his great-grandfather. Rinpoche passed on this tradition to the major regents of the Karma Kagyu lineage as well as to many other lamas and tulkus."
