She is the founder of the Institute for Relational Intimacy, a series of online and in-person courses and workshops for therapists on working effectively with complicated sex issues, relational issues, and alternative sexualities. Kauppi holds a master's in Marriage & Family Therapy, Edgewood College, Madison, Wisconsin. Kim Niemi has appeared on numerous stages in the Boston area as an actor and singer/songwriter, including Theater Lobby in the North End, Chevalier Theatre, Club Cafe, Club Passim, The Lizard Lounge, and The Burren.
