Author Information

When Linda Newbery was a teenager she secretly wrote her own stories and hid them in a wardrobe so they wouldn't be found. Writing was put on hold for a few years when Linda became a teacher, but at the age of 30 she set herself the challenge of finishing a book and getting it published. She now writes full-time and has produced books for all ages. She has won the Costa Children's Book Prize and has twice been shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal, as well as for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize.
