As a medical anthropologist, she has worked for more than ten years on ethnographic studies of medicine, with interests in cancer, medical innovation, inequalities in access to healthcare, and gender and health. She is Author of the forthcoming book Assemblages of cancer: Experiences and contexts of breast cancer in the UK, France and Italy and Co-editor of the ‘New Chronicities’ special issue of Anthropology & Medicine, and her research has appeared in several journals, including Social Science & Medicine, Medical Anthropology, and Journal of Gender Studies.
