Caroline studied history at Universitat de València, Spain, spending ten years dedicated to the Spanish Civil War and the resulting dictatorship. Caroline went on to study at King’s College London, specialising in British royal history. After a decade of writing a dozen works of fiction, including the Queenmaker Trilogy, twelve years of Thomas Cromwell and his fictional attendant Nicòla Frescobaldi, Caroline turned to non-fiction focusing on the surviving papers of Thomas Cromwell, and now Henry VIII’s queens, heirs and courtiers.
