OverviewTo help resolve the problem of limited availability of propagation materials for Caribbean cabbage (Xanthosoma sagittifolium (L.) Schott), a study was conducted on the PIF and bulb fragmentation methods in Goma. The study consisted of determining the response of two varieties of Caribbean cabbage to these methods and evaluating the productivity of propagation materials obtained by these methods under various cropping systems. The results showed that the PIF method and bulb fragmentation, as well as the various cropping systems studied, solve the problem of low availability of propagation materials for chayote and significantly improve its yield.
