OverviewInteraction is a prominent part of our everyday life and experience; daily reality is constructed within the interactions that individuals establish with those around them, with whom they share experiences in a concrete context. Objects, phenomena and individuals permanently influence each other through this dynamic process. The authors of this volume engage in an on-going interpretative process of defining this influence, giving considerable attention to the way participants to interaction try to understand each other, to interpret each other's activity and prove this in an explicit or implicit way through a variety of semiotic codes (verbal, nonverbal or paraverbal). Table of ContentsReviewsAuthor InformationElena Bonta, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, in the Faculty of Letters, Vasile Alecsandri University of Bacau, Romania. Her research interests include verbal interactions, pragmatics, interpersonal communication, intercultural communication and language teaching. In 2010, she founded the Cultural Spaces research group (part of the Interstud Research Centre of the Faculty of Letters) and since then, she has been coordinating the activity of young researchers and members of the group. She is also the organizer of the two international conferences of the group, bringing together researchers from Romania and different countries in Europe, Asia and the United States of America. Dr Bonta is the author of five books: Conversation: An Aspect of Verbal Interaction (2004); English Lexicology: From Theory to Practice (2004); Interpersonal Communication (2004); Elements of English Lexicology (2008); and Teaching English: A Pragmatic Approach (2011). She also co-authored Essential English Topics (1997) and has published academic courses and more than 60 chapters and articles in national and international reviews.
