In this book, the derivation of 4350 Persian words from Indo-European and other roots is demonstrated graphically in little charts, like family trees. They are organized alphabetically to serve as a Persian dictionary. The bilingual descriptions inside the charts are mainly in English. Bibliographic references are provided. A word index is provided for each language that has had an impact on the formation of Persian words. The original meanings of words or roots are also provided along with their current usage.

Author Information

Dr. Nourai, by education, is an electrical engineer with 40 years of experience including many patents and publications in this field. His main passion, however, has always been with languages and origin of words. He spent more than fifteen years studying the etymology of Indo-European languages with focus on Persian and English languages. He researched the roots and derivation of Persian words and displayed them in simple charts that have been published in several books on Persian Etymology.
