Samael Aun Weor (March 6, 1917 - December 24, 1977), born Victor Manuel Gomez Rodriguez, Colombian citizen and later Mexican, was a spiritual leader, author, founder of the 'Universal Christian Gnostic Movement' and lecturer whose roots may be considered somewhat close to occultism and esotericism. In his over sixty books and hundreds of conferences, he describes a teaching called Gnosis.
