Drawing on original material from both UN and ECMM sources, he has identified the true origin of Former Yugoslavia's wars of dissolution, and critically examines the programme of violence which erupted in 1991 and eventually culminated in 1995 in the vicious dismemberment of a sovereign federal republic with seat at the United Nations. He has served in the Middle East on four occasions with UNIFIL and UNTSO and in Former Yugoslavia with the European Community Monitor Mission and later with OSCE as an International Election Observer. He currently works as the Training Officer with the 1st Brigade of the Irish Army while also lecturing at the National Military College.
