Overview

Penny the Blue Pawn is bullied and rejected from the cruel chess factory that only accepts white or black pieces. She finds her inner confidence with the support of friends - including a sympathetic king and queen, a chipped rook, and a happy knight who looks like a zebra instead of a horse. In this illustrated story, Penny the Blue Pawn journeys toward a colorful land where all chess pieces are accepted for who they are. Penny's triumphant story is written in rhyming verse for a fun read for all chess lovers in your family. Coloring pages are available for download so your children can color in all their favorite characters from the book, including the Factory Master, the goofy Quibble-Quarks who work in the chess pieces factory, our hero Penny the Blue Pawn and all her friends. A delightful story for chess-loving parents to read or gift to their young children.
