Overview

This book or 'briefing' has been written for trainee clinicians of various disciplines who find themselves suddenly and perhaps temporarily involved in the management of patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Importantly, it has also been designed to appeal to those who are involved in such care not only in the operating theatre, but elsewhere along the cardiac surgical pathway as an insight to both preoperative and postoperative needs. The briefing and the style in which it is written is based upon the author's extensive experience in training a variety of individuals in the cardiac operating theatre.
