Author Information

The Author, l Judge Schenck, was born October 21, 1932, in the farming country of southwest Ohio, west of Dayton. He is the ninth son of ten born to parents of Dutch ancestry. His father's family ancestry stems from the New Amsterdam Colony whitch settled in what is now New York City. He was raised in the strict conservative Protestant Brethren Church. He graduated from High School, joined the Navy in 1951 and served four years during the Korean War. Seven of his brothers served in World War Two. His ancestors served in the Revolutionary War and every war since, defending our freedom. He married Patricia Prestwood in December, 1952. He entered Ohio University in January, 1956 on the G.I. Bill, graduated in June, 1959, with honors, and received a BA Degree in Political Science. He received scholarships to Stanford Law School from which he graduated in June, 1962, and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. He practiced law for forty years in California (Marin County) and Northeast Oregon. He served five years as Circuit Court Judge in District Ten in NE Oregon. He retired in December, 2008, and started this book. He and his wife will be married sixty years in December, 2012. They have three daughters, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. The incentive to write this book was to do what I could to leave my heirs the same great life as we have enjoyed in the greatest country ever to exist on earth in the greatest era mankind has ever known.
