Author Information

Susan Oliver is a nurse consultant who runs her own clinic where she combines her clinical role with consultancy and social enterprise.   As Chief Nurse Adviser for the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society and Chair of the Royal College of Nursing Rheumatology Forum she has been involved in a range of national policy development.   She is a strong advocate for a patient centred approach to care and has participated in innovation and improvement projects to develop informed decision-making tools and patient pathways. Susan was awarded Professional Nurse of the Year (2000) Joint Winner for her innovations in nurse led clinics and received a British Healthcare Professionals in Rheumatology honorary membership award (2006) for her contribution to rheumatology care. She has written many articles and has her own website at www.susanoliver.com.
